Change-A-Life; courtesy call on the Deputy Governor of Lagos State
On the 19th February 2010, Change-A-Life paid a courtesy
call on the Deputy governor of Lagos State, Her Excellency, Princess Sarah
Sosan to show appreciation for Lagos State's support over the years and to
update on its activities and progress made thus far on all its projects.
Some of the activities reported:
The Annual Change A Life TV Special
Since January 1st 2002, the annual
TV special has been airing on the first day of the year. This show is designed
to foster a sense of hope, encourage and highlight enlightened and
transformational leadership, showcase and reward ordinary Nigerians doing extra
ordinary things and highlight our interventions for the year.
The Educational Scholarship Scheme
The educational scholarship scheme grants
scholarships brilliant indigent children of one parent homes or orphaned; who
have maintained a record of academic excellence.
Currently, we have 98 brilliant indigent
wards of single parents and orphans as our beneficiaries on the scholarship
scheme.
The Health/Medical Scheme:
Under the Medical Assistance scheme,
Change-A-Life is committed to helping indigent children, youths and mothers who
have terminal ailments such as ventricular/atrial septal defects (hole in the
heart), cancer (in all forms) and other terminal ailments that require
immediate intervention.
The Rape Crisis Centre (A Chain of Hope)
The Rape Crisis Centre aims at helping
young rape victims overcome the psychological and traumatic effect of sexual
exploitation, violence and abuse.
