Celebrities’ WAR - Walk Against Rape

Celebrities’ War - Walk Against Rape

On 16th April 2010, Change A Life joined other strong voices in saying NO to RAPE by participating in the Celebrities' War - Walk Against Rape.

In May 2007, in order to protect children from rape and other abuses, the Lagos State Government adopted the Child Rights Law which is referred to as THE CHILD RIGHTS LAW OF LAGOS STATE.

This Law seeks to protect children from exploitation which includes child labour, Child abuse, Child trafficking among others.

For easy understanding of The Child Rights Law, the Lagos State Government through the Ministry of Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation published a simplified version of the Law. The Ministry also produced the Yellow Card For Child Abuse which gives succinct information on the Rights of a child.

Yellow Card for Child Abuse

  • Children are our future LEADERS
  • Education is the Right of Every Child
  • Do not keep your child out of school, it is against the law
  • Be aware and respect the Child Rights Law in Lagos State
  • Penalty for breach of the Law is a jail term or fine of N200,000 (Two Hundred Thousand Naira) or both
  • Do not make your children hawk. It is prohibited in Lagos State
  • Your children can be KIDNAPPED, RAPED, or KILLED by moving vehicles. Do not expose them to DANGER.
